Reading a board card
- League tag — which wire the board is pulled from.
- Status pill — sealed while live, settled after final.
- Score — mirrored from ESPN. Not the read, just the ground truth.
- Odds line — reference price, never a recommendation.
- Tally hidden — the room's slips do not appear until the clock hits zero.
Board etiquette
- Post your read early. Late slips read like reactions, and the room can tell.
- Don't ask what other people posted. The point is that you can't know.
- Own your gap. The distance between your read and the median is your signature.
- Losing a sealed board with the minority still counts more than winning with the crowd.
Timing table
- NFL
- 60m clock, closes at kickoff.
- NBA
- 30m clock, staggered per matchup.
- MLB
- 20m clock, closes at first pitch.
- NHL
- 25m clock, closes at puck drop.
